Our beaches are among the cleanest in the Netherlands
How about an afternoon at the beach? Or just on a weekday? It is quite normal for the inhabitants of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
To the coast and back again, free of traffic jams. The beach is twelve kilometres long, wide, very clean and there are characteristic seaside resorts. On the beach itself, there are several cosy beach pavilions. The perfect place to enjoy the view and a nice drink and snack, even in the winter months. Every year, our beaches are listed in the top ten cleanest beaches in the Netherlands.
Especially during summer, the seaside resorts are pleasantly crowded. Groede is an artistic village in historical surroundings. Maritime Breskens has everything for the tough sailor and the real gourmet. Nieuwvliet is the family seaside resort par excellence and Cadzand overlooks the beautiful nature of nature reserve 't Zwin on the border with Flanders. Besides, Cadzand has an international character.
Not only are we familiar with the North Sea beaches, but also the Western Scheldt is a great place to be. Spotting boats after work or taking a dip? No problem! Within a few minutes you are at the water's edge.
