Looking back on: Meet & Greet
In 2020, the Expat Center Zeeland launched the international community 'International Zeeland Newcomers Center' during an online webinar. This is a platform by and for international workers in the province of Zeeland. During this launch, the three mayors of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen invited the international workers for a warm welcome: a Meet & Greet.
On Monday 28 November 2022, the time had come and the Meet & Greet took place. Due to the pandemic, the event was postponed several times. OnbegrensdZeeuwsVlaanderen, together with the Expat Center Zeeland, was allowed to organise this afternoon/evening at the CO3 Campus in Terneuzen.
Warm welcome
Mayor Ilona Jense (municipality of Hulst), Mayor Marga Vermue (municipality of Sluis) and deputy mayor Jeroen de Buck (municipality of Terneuzen) warmly welcomed about 50 international employees of various nationalities working at 11 different companies in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. They did so with a welcome speech, a presentation on the plans for the city centre of Terneuzen and by telling something about the development of the Expat Center Zeeland on working everywhere in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
In addition, Caroline Buijsse of ZJI Sea Wellness! gave a presentation on her company and Jean Paul Leenknegt spoke about the CO3 Campus building and projects. Two interesting presentations!
Meet & Greet
Afterwards, there was an opportunity for participants to interact with each other and with the mayors and deputy mayor. This while enjoying a snack and drink and music by DJ Frutzenprutser. We received positive feedback. The participants enjoyed meeting new people and getting to know the mayors and deputy mayor. We, as being OnbegrensdZeeuwsVlaanderen, also had interesting conversations. In short, a great event! We will definitely try to make sure to continue organising such events.
