"The degree of compassion, tolerance and cordiality of Dutch people helped us to get mixed up quickly"

I am Shaifali Goyal (fondly called as shaf/chef by my dear ones) a management graduate and hails from Mumbai which is not only the financial capital of India but supersede Netherlands as a whole in terms of its entire population.

My journey to the 'land of windmills' embarked in 2018 when my husband and I had to move here as per career opportunities provided by the Dow chemical company. Like any other outsider we were also equally sceptical for the changeability and challenges this location has to offer us. Also with a 3,5 years old kid I thought it would be challenging to get accustomed to the environment, it's culture and people. Nevertheless, the degree of compassion, tolerance and cordiality of Dutch helped us to get mixed up quickly. Gradually, I started developing a sense of belongingness towards this country and community.

Being an Indian and my love for food motivated me to teach & learn varied Indian and International cuisines over online and offline mediums. The pandemic came as a blessing in disguise to me in terms of giving me plenty of time to cater to my long cherished wish of teaching people live and over online modes leading to the birth of my youtube channel by the name of "Shaifali cooking classes".

Moreover, coming from the land of spices, one of the motives was to introduce different types of spices which not only add zest to the food but also have proven scientific and herbal benefits for the mind, body and soul. Additionally, the misconception and illusions pertaining to Indian spices are not so real. Do try for yourself to get the real taste.

As they say: "Nothing brings people together like good food."
